Jim Bischoff, Director of Public Works for the City of Marion, will be our speaker Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017.

Marion Noon Kiwanis meets Thursdays at the Marion Public Library, 445 East Church Street at 11:30am.

Jim Bischoff was appointed as Director of Public Works on May 10, 2016.  He has served the citizens of Marion for a combined six years, having previously served as the City Engineer and Assistant City Engineer before accepting a job in the private sector.  Jim’s experience includes over 15 years of engineering experience in both private and public sectors, with a diverse background in engineering design, estimating and project management.

The major duties of the Director of Public Works include:  planning and administering public works activities of the city, responsible for the activities of relating to sewer systems, garbage, refuse collection, engineering, street maintenance, landfill closure and continued monitoring, solid waste disposal, and all other public works activities, develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities related to the departments overseen.

Jim will discuss current and upcoming projects in the City.
